Happiness in a farm home
Photographs for my cousin.
The mother of this family is a talented photographer. This camera was the one she learned on long ago.
Harry Potter is a favorite with their oldest daughter.
This family chooses to cook on a wood stove. They live in an old farm home which is also heated by the stove. My cousin makes cinnamon rolls, cookies, everything in it. They also have one in the family room area which you will see in the following photographs.
The family room stove which is used for cooking and heating.
The kitchen stove.
Juggling multiple tasks while making homemade maple syrup.
Before the start of each meal, this family blesses their food.
This was the last piece of bacon. It was saved for me.
Gathering firewood for inside.
The girl's room.
The girls carefully placed streamers over their door. Notice the beads at the end of the streamers.
Having five children in this family, everyone has to help. The oldest daughter brushes her sister's teeth.
The girls collect porcelain dolls.
He had to show me his trick, too.
A gift from her older sister.
A lost tooth.
Swinging the purse.
The bribery jar of marshmallows.
The father of this family owns a business...Stahr Specialty Woodworking. It is furniture made with reclaimed wood. He has years of experience and is very particular in his quality of craftsmanship.
One of my favorite photos...mother and son.
The daily feeding of the chickens.
Gathering the eggs.
Heading to a frequented park.
The sibling look.
This young woman decided to wear her, "As You Like It", t-shirt because she held a main part in the Shakespeare production.
The oldest daughter had made homemade cookies for her friends the day before. Finding out her friends were all going to be gone for Spring Break her siblings got the benefit of her efforts.
This cider is hand-pressed every second week in October. It is made with an old press that was given to the family. The press is very large and it takes a lot of effort and hard work. I will be photographing the process of the apple pressing this year.
